My name is Niamh and I am an Irish artist living and based in Northern Ireland. Mostly I paint because I get really grumpy if I haven't in a while... so for the sake of all, it's best if I continue.
I graduated from the Ulster University, Belfast in 2015 with a BA Fine Art Degree and The University of Edinburgh in 2017 with an MFA Degree in Contemporary Art Practice. I've come back to Ulster to complete my PhD, which I am researching if a combination of visual and literary methods can help to improve the communication of chronic pain experience - I like to call this 'The Visualisation of Pain'.
I am available for commissions upon request, which I really enjoy doing. For the most part, people have approached me with a scene or a landscape - to put a spin on them with oil paint. I have also been commissioned to paint houses or memories of people - I prefer to visit the space or the place in these instances.
If anything tickles your fancy, contact me and we can arrange a studio visit/ skype visit to see the paintings in different perspectives and lighting. My Instagram page (which is listed on this website) is probably the best way to keep up to date with what I am painting! :)
