Lough Neagh is somewhere I keep coming back to with my painting. I love how quickly the landscape can change here - one minute it’s dark and stormy, and then the light comes through and completely changes the water.

For this piece I wanted to really embrace the paint, building it up in thick, chunky layers to capture the movement of the water and that mix of dark clouds and warm light across the horizon.

It’s a little more dramatic than some of my other Lough Neagh paintings, but that’s what I love about the place. It never really looks the same twice.
