This painting came from thinking about how quickly a landscape can change. One moment the sky feels heavy with rain, and the next there's a break in the clouds that changes the whole scene. Those fleeting shifts are what I've found myself returning to throughout the Soft Light series.

Rather than painting a specific place, I'm interested in painting the feeling of being there. The anticipation before the rain, the stillness afterwards, and the quiet moments where light finds its way through. I love that landscapes can hold so many different memories for different people, and I hope this piece leaves room for you to bring your own.
