Where the Day Ends is about those moments when the landscape feels suspended between one thing and the next. The sky is still heavy, but there's a thin strip of light on the horizon that's enough to change how everything else is seen.

While working on the Soft Light series, I've found myself returning to these quieter moments rather than dramatic views. I'm less interested in painting a particular place and more interested in the feeling a landscape leaves behind. Sometimes it's the smallest shift in light that stays with us long after we've forgotten the details.

I hope this painting offers that same sense of pause - a reminder that even on the darkest days, the light doesn't disappear completely. Sometimes it simply waits on the horizon.
